<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood Consulting have a vacant position for a Senior QA Engineer to lead the introduction and development of software testing as part of our Asset Performance & Optimisation Team (APO). <br><br><b>Join a culture of innovation</b>, pushing the boundaries of what is possible to seek the best solutions for our clients. <br><br><b>The Role</b> <br><br>We are looking for dynamic, versatile individuals with a desire to join our teams working on fast moving projects in a variety of integrity applications across a range of engineering sectors, including but not limited to oil & gas, energy transition and renewable energy markets, Petro-chemicals, mining/metals, and utilities. Our projects currently include hydrogen, carbon capture, renewable and conventional energies, with a continuous focus on delivery and client satisfaction. <br><br>Supporting global energy transition through decarbonization and green energies is a key part of our plans, and we expect to see significant growth in these sectors, while at the same time meeting commitments to existing hydrocarbon development infrastructure. So even if you feel you don't have everything listed, but feel you have some of the experience, knowledge or skills to help us unlock solutions to the world's most critical challenges....do apply. <br><br>Expected: <br><ul><li> Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, engineering, or equivalent IT degree </li><li> Must have the right to work in the UK </li><li> Software testing qualification(s) - ISTQB or equivalent </li><li> You will have a strong interest and passion for establishing software engineering best practice. </li><li> Have expertise in a range of testing approaches </li><li> Have the leadership and communication skills required to set good software testing standards </li><li> Strong understanding of BDD </li><li> Understanding of Agile methodologies </li><li> Passion for continuous improvement and build a strong standard for software testing practises across the integrity management team </li><li> White box / black box testing </li><li> Ability to understand and assure a good UX for our applications </li><li> Strong communication skills across various disciplines / roles </li><li> Strong analytical skills </li><li> Experience in Agile methodologies - Scrum Framework or equivalent </li><li> Leadership skills to help lead testing where required </li><li> Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills </li><li> Demonstrate good exploratory and destructive testing skills </li><li> Proficiency in best practices for testing, version control, and defect management </li><li> Strong Documentation skills </li><li> Strong attention to detail </li></ul><br><b> Desirable: </b><br><ul><li> Automation testing of web, mobile or desktop applications </li><li> Experience in Spec Flow or equivalent </li><li> Experience in Postman or a good understanding of scripting language </li><li> Good understanding in writing SQL queries </li><li> Good understanding of coding in C
