Johnson & Johnson Services is recruiting for a Manager Payroll Services position. This role will be located in Tampa, FL and may require occasional travel up to 5%. This individual is responsible for the management and delivery of North America Payroll Services team operations, within Tampa Service Center, supporting 40k+ US and Puerto Rico employees. The Payroll Services Manager will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Global Services, Payroll Operations. Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day activities for the Payroll Services team within the Global Services. Assist with interpretation and completion of activities related to pay policies, calculations, processes to support accuracy and compliance of payroll, such as: Merger, Acquisitions and Divestures Employee changes (hires, terms, etc.) Severances Short/Long-term disability (STD/LTD) Special/One-time payments Final pay Manual/remote checks Union Legal request Lead, manage and influence payroll coordination of activities related to testing and implementation of all mergers and acquisitions. Responsible for Gross-to-Gross (G2G) reconciliation and other payroll audits/validations. Support the development and execution of the SOX Program (404). Support internal, external and government audits as needed. Lead and manage year-end and year-begin activities for Services team Provide prioritization of work assignments and serve as an escalation point for issues. Assist in researching and resolving pay discrepancies. Responsible for the development of internal and external communications for payroll related matters. Organize and facilitate ongoing development, evaluation, and maintenance of documentation (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, Desktop Procedures and Job Aids) to ensure complete, accurate, and up-to-date depiction of processes. Create and utilize day to day metrics to drive performance, identify trends, and develop/implement process improvements, and solutions for Services team. Drive operational agility and excellence through regional collaboration across workstreams to evaluate existing business processes, influence process improvements and efficiencies, following Global Service strategies. Develop, coach, mentor and build a motivated and high-performance team. Set annual goals and develop effective career and development paths. Provide a high level of confidence and moral support to the team. Recruit and hire staff as appropriate. Drive a culture of willingness, visibility, and communication by establishing a regular meeting cadence with business partners. Other payroll related projects Qualifications A minimum of a bachelor’s Degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or other designation preferred A minimum of 8 years’ experience is required for this position with a minimum of 5 years of progressive Payroll experience for a large multi-state company is required Prior people management experience is required Experience developing and improving payroll processes to maximize efficiency & deliver quality services preferred Merger, Acquisitions and Divestures is preferred Experience in a shared service center environment and case management tools is preferred Experience working with Union employees is preferred Must have a sense of urgency in solving customer (employee & agency) and audit requests to ensure timely resolution and an ability to work effectively under pressure Must have ability to work in a team-based environment as a model of customer service, teamwork, and leadership Must demonstrate ability to lead, mentor, and delegate as appropriate by disseminating knowledge and techniques Working knowledge of Payroll processes, procedures, controls, regulations, and compliance requirements is required Ability to process complex information and quickly identify innovative solutions that meet both internal and business partner requirements required A sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution and an ability to work effectively under pressure Demonstrate high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity to compliance related matters required Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact skillfully and confidently with internal and external stakeholders and colleagues to develop ideas, identify opportunities, and influence outcomes is required Experience with an ERP system such as Payroll, HR, OM modules of SAP and WorkDay preferred Proficiency in Microsoft office is required This role will be located in Tampa, FL and may require occasional travel up to 5% Johnson & Johnson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
