<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Sustainability (HSSE&S&S) Manager to lead and raise the health & safety standards across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. A highly visible role would report into the SVP of APAC and the VP of HSSE&S&S, and will have responsibility for supporting the APAC Leadership Team and management in driving HSSE&S culture, continuous improvement process across the business, and ensuring delivery of HSSE&S objectives. <br><br>Key responsibilities include: <br><ul><li> supporting the Asia Pacific Leadership Team by providing strong, visible and positive HSSE&S leadership and promote the adoption of HSSE&S best practice and values, as well as the development and roll-out of Wood HSSE&S objectives and other initiatives including Safety Shield </li><li> partnering with the business to lead and support the initiatives to deliver Wood's contribution to global sustainable development </li><li> contributing to the monthly Management Team meetings, with accountability for reporting on all HSSE&S statistics and performance against objectives. </li><li> providing support and advice to staff on implementation and compliance with legislation, international standards and with internal procedures </li><li> building relationships with customers to support the safe and successful delivery of work scopes, thus enhancing Wood's reputation </li><li> being aware of Client HSSE&S requirements and Wood values and behaviours, and actively promoting adherence with industry best practice </li><li> ensuring HSSE&S customer information and feedback is incorporated into relationship management and pursuit plans relevant to the specified companies </li><li> actively participating in the business capture and tender response, promoting HSSE&S performance and culture as a differentiator for the business </li><li> playing an active role in defining, shaping, driving, and executing the HSSE&S strategy to support short and long-term strategic goals </li><li> monitoring current project work scopes and ensuring HSSE&S support is suitably resourced </li><li> ensuring that effective HSSE&S management is provided for all the offices, sites and installations in their business area by the selection, coaching and control of an efficient and competent team of HSSE&S specialists </li><li> supporting the organisation's aim to avoid operational losses, maximise brand protection and to assure continued process capability to Wood clients </li><li> leading and coordinating the accident and incident investigation process, and provide support to staff involved as required </li><li> monitoring compliance against HSSE&S improvement plans. </li><li> ensuring that internal and external compliance certifications remain operational, and supervise the recertification process with 3rd parties. Ensure close out of assurance and / or audit findings, competent audit reports and proper and effective corrective and preventive actions </li><li> ensuring HSSE&S legislation is complied with at all times, and report any breaches </li><li> ensuring that all HSSE&S documentation is kept up-to-date and ensure policies and practices are both applied and effective, by mans of a structured and risk-based assurance process. Promote a mature, interdependent HSSE&S culture that delivers positive commitment to, and engagement with all employees in, continuous performance improvement </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> degree in relevant technical, industry or HSSE specific discipline </li><li> ONC/HNC or equivalent in Technical, HSSE or related industry. </li><li> NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma (desirable) </li><li> NVQ Level 4 IOSH (desirable) </li><li> Lead auditor qualification in ISO 45001:2018 / ISO 9001 (desirable) </li></ul><br>Knowledge, skills, & experience:<br><ul><li> Extensive HSSE&S experience, with experience of leading in a regional leadership capacity </li><li> Experience of working in and managing a HSSE&S Management System environment </li><li> Experience in HSSE&S Management and legal requirements across key geographies within APAC, namely Singapore, Thailand, China, Brunei, Malaysia and Vietnam </li><li> Ability to converse and read Mandarin is an added advantage as we have a strong focus on our business in China </li><li> Experience in a supervisory and/or direct management experience of a team of HSSE&S Managers and Specialists </li><li> Project/contract experience in Energy, Oil & Gas, Process or other comparable industry </li><li> Broad HSSE&S experience in similar industry </li><li> Experience of Construction and working in a live plant a strong plus </li></ul><br> Personal attributes: <br><ul><li> Effective two-way communicator, comfortable with presentation of HSSE&S concepts and programs </li><li> Relationship Builder - Connect and establish effective, cross-cultural working relationships with all levels of the organisation and externally.
