Junior Cost Controller

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood's Power Solutions business performs consulting and EPCM services for many of Canada's power generation and power distribution companies. <br><br>Wood currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Junior Cost Controller within our Power Solutions sector.Reporting directly to the Project Controls Manager, this position is in our Vancouver BC office. This role will involve providing general support to the cost control team in Vancouver, as well as the coordination of all billing aspects for multiple programs located across North America. <br><br><b>Key responsibilities: </b> <br><ul><li> Administer customer invoicing in Oracle for clients located in Canada and the US, including creating and issuing invoices in various formats and systems, assembling invoice support, creating credit memos, performing billing and revenue events for lump sum invoices, carrying out routine quality checks, uploading invoices into Ariba and submitting monthly summary report to client </li><li> Assist cost controllers with invoice decisions by performing monthly reconciliation, creating multiple associated reference reports and updating the cost control database accordingly </li><li> Perform hold report management and release holds prior to billing </li><li> Perform labour transfers and corrections in the system and validate AP Corrections Form for non-labour items </li><li> Calculate monthly labour discount rate and submit WG journal backup for approval </li><li> Approve new project set up compliance with schedule of rates and Project Notification Form (PNF) </li><li> Maintain and update various spreadsheets related to billing and invoice status </li><li> Manage Unbilled Aging Report, including reviewing and clearing of items </li><li> Review Exceptions Report on a weekly basis </li><li> Review and add Purchase Orders, Change Orders and Service Authorizations to the database, update associated files and systems, and communicate updates to various team members </li><li> Maintain and update cost control database on a regular basis, as well as associated files </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Minimum 2 years experience working in an accounting or cost control related role </li><li> Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Outlook and Teams) </li><li> Experience working with SAP Ariba and Oracle </li><li> Above average attention to detail </li><li> Flexible with the ability to balance multiple tasks and changing priorities with required urgency, and the ability to diplomatically negotiate deadlines and deliverables </li><li> Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service </li><li> Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage conflict and build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, management, and external partners </li><li> Previous experience working in an engineering environment would be an asset </li><li> Experience working with MS Access databases would be an asset </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
