Senior Compensation Consultant – Recognition, Communications & Special Projects OVERVIEW: At General Mills, the Human Resources function is an integrated part of our business. It contributes to the success of General Mills by developing and implementing strategies and programs that create an increasingly innovative, flexible, dynamic organization made up of outstanding employees. As part of the Total Rewards team within Human Resources, the Senior Compensation Consultant will support the recognition culture, and the understanding of our pay programs at General Mills. RECOGITION PROGRAM ACCOUNTABILITIES: Manage enterprise-wide recognition programs, to include project management, communications, and stakeholder management Develop metrics to measure success, identify potential issues, and provide recommendations for improvement Continually review, refresh and improve enterprise recognition programs and function/business framework in alignment with company or function/business strategy and external benchmarking best practices Manage recognition vendor; bring new ideas or functionality to internal leadership; monitor spend against budget plans; partner with sourcing on contract management Own policy for service anniversary awards; support execution in partnership with HR Operations Serve as primary consultant with HR business leaders on recognition program design, refresh, and support for their respective areas PAY PROGRAM COMMUNCATION ACCOUNTABILITIES: Develops content needed for various internal Total Rewards stakeholders Develops or redesigns content to support business-facing compensation consultants Develop, update and refresh content for all compensation annual processes Identifies opportunities for simplification and best practices for pay communications, fostering a journey of increasing pay transparency Develop and manage annual calendar of reoccurring communications and events across broad-based compensation team Manage comprehensive library of all content and communications Strong partnership with Corporate Communications and HR L&D on content creation for all enterprise-wide communications and trainings including pay programs SPECIAL PROJECTS: Project management for miscellaneous Compensation or Recognition projects Lead all aspects of assigned projects, including building work plans, engaging internal and external team members, prioritizing and assigning tasks, identifying and mitigating risks, and bringing projects to successful completion Collaborate across HR on programs, initiatives, and issue resolution MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree Minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience Strong business acumen and experience with compensation, recognition, and communications campaigns Strong project and process management skills and the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy Strong client relationship and presentation skills Strong desire to build a culture of recognition Knowledgeable about all major aspects of compensation delivery, and familiar with compensation design principles for, base pay and short- and long-term incentives Superior skills in quantitative analysis, including advanced skills in Excel, and other database tools Drive for process management and improvement Working knowledge of all MS Office applications including Word and PowerPoint PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Expertise in compensation principles, program design, communication, and implementation Advanced Degree (MBA, MA-HRIR) Certification in Human Resources such as a CCP, PHR, SPHR or GPHR Experience providing support to one or more client groups and managing competing priorities Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work at and influence at all levels of the organization Experience in Workday COMPANY OVERVIEW We exist to make food the world loves.
