Summary ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTHCARE, & FACILITIES SBU San Antonio, TX The Human Resource Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of human resource functions to support the departments objectives of providing timely, accurate, efficient, and effective customer service to corporate and subsidiary employees. Responsibilities Process new hire paperwork via applicant tracking system as well as follow up with candidates regarding missing documentation and follow up with Corporate HR to ensure timely processing Schedule pre-employment drug testing and run background checks on new hires and notify Site Manager of candidates’ eligibility for hire prior to scheduled date of hire Send candidate appropriate tax forms to complete which adhere to company nexus and state reciprocity Send Welcome emails within 24 hours of an employee’s hire date Process Employee Action Request (EAR) changes, i.e., salary increases; project and PLC changes; and supervisor changes within 24 hours of notification and follow up with Corporate HR to ensure timely processing Send exit interviews for departing employees Process Termination Employee Action Request (TEAR) on employees last day Process employees’ queries and respond in a timely manner Maintain hiring records in compliance with government requirements Adhere to all Chenega Corporate employment policies and procedures Work with candidate on relocation and track the funds spent on moving costs Other duties as assigned Qualifications Possession of a high school diploma, or its equivalent Minimum four (4) years of administrative, secretarial, or clerical experience in a Human Resources environment. Up to two years of the required experience may be substituted for related college-level course work on a year-for-year basis Minimum two (2) years data entry experience, required Minimum two (2) years Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) experience, preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to travel as appropriate. Travel will be required for new site launches Proficiency in Microsoft Office Experience with applicant tracking systems is desirable Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Solid communication skills, both verbal and written Strong organizational skills and diligence to follow up. Excellent attention to detail while multitasking Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines. Displays an outgoing personality, patience, friendliness, and ability to work with a variety of people, always maintaining professionalism Highly knowledgeable of company policies, Government regulated discrimination guidelines, acceptable interview questions and statements, and thorough understanding of company needs, programs, benefits, and culture. Innovative, goal-oriented, and creative approach to delivering results.
