Title
SR. PRINCIPAL GEOPHYSICIST

Primary Purpose of Job
Plan, supervise, coordinate, and control the collection, analysis, and evaluation of Geophysical data for reservoirs studies to generate appropriate field development plans. Provide high level quality geophysical support for QatarEnergy Idd El-Shargi field and participate in interdisciplinary reservoir study teams. Provide ad hoc support to Reservoir Management Teams for well proposals/prognoses preparation when needed. Perform geo-hazard analysis for well planning and estimate the risk level using the geophysical data

Education
• Minimum of a BSc in Geophysics is required. • Advanced degree will be a plus.

Experience & Skills
• Minimum of 20 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with at least 10 years& 39; experience on conducting Geophysical risk assessment related to studies/operations. • Very strong experience in 2D/3D seismic interpretation of carbonate reservoirs in Middle East region, seismic attributes analysis and seismic characterization with different inversion technics. • Good knowledge of carbonate geology/structural geological principles. • Strong knowledge of borehole seismic acquisition, processing, and interpretation. • Strong experience in seismic processing applying new technologies in PreSDM processing. Experience in 4D is a real plus. • Must have strong teamwork skills. Experience working in a multicultural and integrated asset team environment is a plus. • Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, less experienced staff, field staff, and Management. • Must have very strong experience/knowledge of Petrel and other current computer software for geophysical applications.
