VersaTech has an opening for a Senior Production Operator to work in West Africa.

Overview

The Senior Production Operator is a 28 x 28 rotational position that entails overseeing the startup, operation, monitoring, and shutdown of process and utility systems, ensuring they operate within specified parameters and meet quality standards. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting to optimize sales quality and delivery volume, maintaining compliance with environmental guidelines, conducting equipment testing and maintenance, and facilitating a safe work environment through risk assessments and clear communication. Additionally, the position involves maintaining accurate records, witnessing calibrations, and fostering positive working relationships.

This work will take place on Shallow Water, Offshore facilities in West Africa. The living quarters will be located on offshore platforms.

Responsibilities

• Guide and mentor junior operators in understanding, operating, and ensuring the safety of chemical injection systems, including identifying and mitigating hazards.
• Execute pigging operations proficiently, inspect equipment, analyze procedures, and predict pig arrival times.
• Explain and implement reporting protocols, mitigation measures, operate leak detection equipment, and coach junior operators on leak detection, abnormal conditions, failure investigations, and hazard mitigation.
• Execute and troubleshoot start-up procedures, analyze performance, develop maintenance plans, and implement safety measures for the facility equipment, including but not limited to turbine engines, processing equipment, power generation systems, fuel systems, gas pipelines, and flare systems.
• Perform daily testing, repairs, and maintenance of all equipment and safety devices.
• Responsible for following safety procedures and maintaining safety data.
• Conduct daily safety walks and talks with all operations personnel; participate in the company& 39;s daily Safety, Quality and Environmental program.
• Ensure that all platforms and process equipment are functioning efficiently, with any failure of safety critical elements to meet performance standards being reported
• Verify emergency equipment and ESD system are in good operating condition.
• Start up, Operate, Monitor and Shut Down Process and Utility Systems
• Monitor, maintain and optimize process parameters (Level, flow, temperature, pressure etc.) within operating requirements.
• Ensure sampling is carried out and sample results are acted upon.
• Troubles shoot to maximize sales quality and delivery volume to identify problems.
• Monitor and operate electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, Fire and Gas Systems
• Ensure accurate production reporting is submitted daily
• Witness third party calibrations when appropriate to provide verification of meter factors and volumes.
• Chemical treating and handling
• Facilitate maintenance operations by applying/removing isolations as required.
• Operation under PTW system, Toolbox Talk and Risk Assessments.
• Advise maintenance personnel on hazards of plant and equipment.
• Maintain clear and precise communications during maintenance operations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years& 39; experience working offshore as a Production Operator on a production platform
• Offshore production operating preferred.
• Boat transfer and swing rope experience preferred
• Previous H2S field experience preferred
• Good experience with Permit to Work Procedures
