Overview Manage executive’s schedules, travel itineraries, and coordinate events for a fortune 200 company with some of the most iconic brands! Do you live in the intersection of politics and being an administrative professional? If so, we want to speak with you! We are currently seeking a Senior Legislative Assistant to support the Government Affairs & Public Policy team in Washington, DC. This position is a hybrid role working on-site three days per week, or as required. This position will provide administrative support to the day-to-day demands and activities in an organized, effective, and efficient manner while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and integrity. What you’ll be doing: • Proactively manage the executive's calendar and schedule, coordination of meetings and events, anticipating needs and ensuring efficient time management. • Understand and prioritize departmental objectives to effectively manage the executive's time, workflow, and travel arrangements, often with short notice. This involves extensive coordination and follow-up with other executives, directors, and administrative assistants. • Relay pertinent information to other department staff and executives and assist in the planning and execution of events. • Prepare and submit the executive's expense statements electronically, and review staff expenses for compliance. • Undertake complex, non-routine projects and assignments with minimal supervision. • Perform a broad range of administrative and general support duties, including composing, editing, and proofreading correspondence, reports, and presentations. • Electronically manage records, including scanning and filing. • Handle sensitive and confidential materials and matters in compliance with established procedures and processes. • Foster and maintain collaborative, friendly relationships with HR colleagues, other Altria executives at all levels, and individuals across various departments and levels. • Process invoices and execute contracts for team based on established templates. • Maintain budget throughout year, reconcile at the end of each month. • Collaboratively support a multifaceted team both on-site and remotely, acting as a representative for State Government Affairs, Federal Government Affairs and the Government Affairs and Public Policy groups located in Washington, D.C. and across various states. • Ability to work on-site for a minimum of three days per week, or as required. • Miscellaneous/other duties as assigned. We want you to have: • An Associate’s Degree (or equivalent experience), a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a large corporate environment or supporting a Capitol Hill office. • Experience supporting government affairs or other external affairs teams is a plus. • Strong organizational skills. • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work independently and make decisions in management absence. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Advanced computer skills, including a thorough understanding and application of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Power Point, Excel, and Word). • Ability to develop presentations and materials that are executive-ready. • Ability to interact with all levels within and outside of the company. • Ability to maintain confidentiality. • Understanding, influencing and/or serving people are meaningful skills in completing responsibilities. Total Rewards The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $70,800.00 - $108,000.00 / annually.
