Position Summary Will be the senior API inspector mentor on the CABGOC project who will play a pivotal role in the development and nurturing of upcoming API inspectors and support to all API inspectors on this contract. They will have excellent mentoring skills, be experts in their field but also outstanding educators who impart their knowledge, skills, and experience to ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance in accordance with the client's codes of practice, strategies, and legislation
Duties & Responsibilities Functions ESSENTIAL
• Provide comprehensive technical guidance. This involves explaining the intricacies of various standards, codes, and practices that govern API inspections, CES and Facilities Integrity and Reliability Management (FIRM).
• Ensuring that inspectors thoroughly understand the American Petroleum Institute (API) standards, including API 510, 570,653 and other relevant to their specific field.
• Offering hands-on training e.g. witness inspector carrying out equipment inspection.
• Evaluate the performance and carry assessments, identifying areas where inspectors excel and areas that require improvement.
• Encourage to engage in continuous learning to stay updated with industry advancements, recommending relevant courses, certifications, and professional development opportunities.
• Lead by example, demonstrating the highest standards of professional behavior.
• Provide guidance through troubleshooting processes and encouraging analytical thinking.
• Work on building the confidence by providing opportunities to take on responsibilities, make decisions, and learn from successes and failures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

REQUIRED • Certified API-510, API-570, API-653, API-580
• Knowledge of Corrosion mechanisms such as SCC, NH4HS, CUI, fatigue, etc.
• Demonstrated experience on piping and pressure vessels inspection and repair procedures.
• Offshore medical, BOSIET / Offshore Survival certification
• Proficient in Microsoft office suits.
NOTE: N/A DESIRED • Degree in an Engineering related discipline
• Chartered Engineer as defined by the Engineering Council or equivalent.
• CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 or AWS

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristic • Minimum 5 years, supervisory experience with an asset integrity team. (E).
• Minimum 15 years Inspection experience in the Upstream Oil and Gas industry. (E).
• Minimum 5 years of specific experience related to the job description. (E).
• Minimum 5 years, supervisory experience as a certified API-510/570/653/580 inspector (E).
• Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of standards, risk assessments and legislation associated with the in-service inspection of plant and equipment. (E).
• Provide in-depth knowledge and insight into API codes, Chevron engineering standards, regulations, and best practices. (E)
• Have working knowledge of design, manufacture, metallurgy, welding, and codes associated with fabrication and construction of plant and equipment. (E).
• Good understanding of corrosion mechanisms and monitoring (E).
• Must be familiar with QA/QC systems/procedures and NDT techniques.
• Good reporting writing capabilities and provide comprehensive reports on specific formats with details of observation, inference, and recommendations with short and long-term solutions. (E).
• Previous experience of coaching, mentoring, and carrying out competency assessments. (E)
• Be able to create a structured learning environment that fosters growth and development. (E)
• Demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to upholding industry standards and safety. (E)
• Provide emotional and professional support, helping to navigate the challenges of API inspector role. (E)

Working Conditions This position is considered ONSHORE/OFFSHORE which is characterized as follows:
• Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water
• Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment
• Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels
• Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.
• Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
• Work surface is stable, height is elevated
