Job Purpose:
To oversee and manage all drilling rig operations, ensuring efficient execution of drilling programs while upholding the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence. The Rig Manager ensures proper coordination between the drilling crew, maintenance teams, and company representatives to achieve cost-effective and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage day-to-day rig activities to ensure adherence to the approved drilling program.
- Monitor rig performance, optimize operational parameters, and ensure minimal downtime. Coordinate with company man, well engineers, and third-party service providers on-site.
- Supervise all rig personnel including Toolpushers, Drillers, Electricians, and Mechanics.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings and ensure adherence to shift handover procedures.
- Monitor crew performance, provide mentorship, and ensure training requirements are met.
- Enforce strict compliance with company and regulatory HSE policies.
- Oversee the preventive maintenance of rig equipment to avoid unscheduled breakdowns.
- Maintain accurate records of drilling operations, equipment usage, crew timesheets, and Monitor rig expenditures and ensure operations remain within budget.
- Approve purchase requisitions and manage vendor coordination.
Key Requirements (Qualifications & Experience):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in drilling operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Valid IWCF or IADC Well Control Certificate (Supervisor level).
- Proficient in rig operations software and reporting tools.
