S&P Commodity Insights The Role: Clean Energy Technology research intern – offshore wind The Team: Within Gas, Power & Climate Solutions division, the Cleantech team focuses on providing data, insight and analytics on topics related to energy storage, batteries, carbon sequestration, hydrogen, solar and wind industries. Analysts regularly speak at the world’s leading conferences, present at company headquarters and are quoted frequently in major media outlets and industry press. What’s in it for you: 1) Opportunities for growth within the Team and beyond 2) Global nature of the role 3) Training and mentoring support provided by manger 4) Opportunity to work with world experts in the field across the globe 5) Options to work from home Responsibilities: The analyst will be conducting desktop research as well as interacting with industry players to further solidify and enhance various research areas of S&P Global’s Clean Energy Technology team. This includes data collection and cost analysis for renewables with a focus on offshore wind energy (bottom-fixed and floating) globally. Some of the key responsibilities of the analyst would include – 1) Helping collect, manage, and analyze market data. Track and identify market trends across the entire offshore wind value chain. 2) Supporting renewables cost research including maintain market data and models and creating complementary new research and data streams. 3) Support in creation of quantitative and qualitative market reports analyzing different aspects of the clean energy technologies covered including trends and outlooks. 4) Work and coordinate closely with a large team of global analysts to align viewpoints, data, and outlooks. 5) Develop excellent relationships with companies to understand their perspectives, views, opinions, and need. In turn present to them our views, analysis, and outlooks. 6) Support client requests by providing quick and comprehensive answers to questions on research findings. On-site and phone presentations may be necessary if the opportunity arises. 7) Work with our global sales and marketing teams to promote our research and help contribute to meeting commercial targets. What We’re Looking For: 1. A relevant university degree (Bachelors or equivalent), preferably in a science, engineering, economics, or other quantitative field. 2. A strong interest in the energy sector. An analytical thinker who enjoys making an impact towards the energy transition. 3. Proficiency in MS Office applications especially MS Excel. Able to work on and enhance large and complex excel spreadsheets and databases. 4. Excellent English and Mandarin Chinese communication (reading / writing / speaking) skills. 5. Good oral and written communication and presentation skills. 6. Organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment 7. Prior experience with market analysis related to different clean energy technologies is a preferred, but not essential. Experience with databases is highly preferred. 8. Aptitude for statistical analysis. 9. Keen attention to detail. 10. Strong team player that can work across geographies and time zones. 11.
