Sarasota Memorial's Research Institute is an exceptional study and trial environment with a highly qualified staff and an enviable performance record. SMRI is a standalone facility on Sarasota Memorial Healthcare System’s Main campus that provides knowledge, expertise, and infrastructure essential for a full range of innovative drug, device, registry, and biospecimen trials. At any one time, Sarasota Memorial physicians are involved numerous studies. The Sarasota Memorial Research Institute proudly continues to offer the latest advanced treatment options to patients in the community. The clinical team at SMRI is capable of providing assistance to researchers in a wide range of trial operations including tissue procurement and specimen acquisition, clinical trial coordination, biostatistical analysis, investigational pharmacology, grant supplementation, and more. SMRI has a research business office that provides communications and budgeting assistance in research marketing and clinical trial operations. SMRI’s Research Development Program offers mentorship and support to clinicians interested in Investigator-initiated research projects. SMRI services: Research Development Program Regulatory Affairs Office Research Business Office Pharmacology Research Data Office Human Research Protection Program Duties of the Research Coordinator/Technologist are: preparing and submitting regulatory submission to IRB and sponsors, documentation compliance for multiple study projects, audit preparation, and data submission. This position also will be responsible for advising patients of trial design, facilitating informed consent for investigators, following strict adherence to protocol procedures specific to each study, screening for possible trial patients, eligibility criteria, and patient follow up. This position is responsible for coordination of trial activities mentioned above, as well as, others. Required Qualifications - Require graduation from a Cardiovascular Technology Program. - Require completion of the following training programs within 30 days of hire: Good Clinical Practice; Human Subject Protection; & Safe Handling/Hazardous - Require a minimum of five (5) years of healthcare experience with at least two years of pertinent cardiovascular experience. - Require registration in either vascular technology or cardiac sonography by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RVT or RDCS) OR adult cardiac sonography or vascular specialty from Cardiac Credentialing International (RVS, RCS, RCCS). Preferred Qualifications - Prefer an organized individual with strong critical thinking skills who can work efficiently under pressure. - Prefer in-depth knowledge of good clinical practices as set forth by Federal regulations. - Prefer someone who is highly motivated, shows initiative, is proactive, and able to work independently, as well as, on a team. - Prefer prior research experience either in formal or informal capacity.
