Position Summary: Reporting to the Buyer, the Logistics Coordinator will be focused on servicing the accounts and be responsible for providing logistics support. Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities: Interact with buyer as well as and the transportation department Work with Transportation to Determine appropriate trucks for back haul use Schedule loads with suppliers and provide appropriate release numbers to supplier’s and transportation Work with suppliers to provide good customer service and information about loads being picked up and communicate to Mill Buyer. Confirm prior day pick-ups reschedule if necessary Respond to receiving inquiries and update system and suppliers Assist with inventory when required Serve as liaison between mill buyer and regional logistics teams Coordinate monitor back-hauls via collaboration with local fleet Verify as well as validate, light loads and document. Investigate detentions complete supplier incident report Coordinate pickups communicate to Mill Buyer any action required Communicate feedback from suppliers to Mill Buyer, vice versa Decide if claim is freight or supplier gather proper documentation, collect loss from carrier or supplier Perform all duties in accordance with accepted current standards as well as will perform other duties as deemed necessary by management to meet departmental company objectives Update freight rates on a weekly basis Work with events and collector organizations to ensure seamless execution of pick-ups and supplies deliveries, as well as provide support and guidance Manage a network of service providers that deliver, freight movement in a cost efficient and effective manner Assist in the day to day activities that occur on the Mill site. Generate reports, monitor performance, perform trend and data analysis Resolve invoice discrepancies and validate invoicing for related service providers Manage shipping documentation inventories and distribution Follow all company policies per Employee Handbook & Code of Conduct. Follow all company safety guidelines. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Hiring Requirements/Preferences College degree or High School diploma with equivalent experience Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience Basic knowledge of manufacturing operations, recycling industry, and/or supply chain logistics preferred Highly organized and detail oriented with strong analytical capabilities Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Access, Word) Bilingual in Spanish an asset Professional Attitude & conduct Multi-task, interpersonal communication, problem solving, and time management skills are needed. High degree of safety awareness and safety discipline Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times. Willing to travel and work away from home when and if required. Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. Strictly adhere to safety requirements and the policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by PRATT Safety and OSHA. Be at least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment. You will be expected to be flexible to the needs of our business, as we continually strive to meet and exceed the needs of our customers.
