Overview At PNNL, our core capabilities are divided among major departments that we refer to as Directorates within the Lab, focused on a specific area of scientific research or other function, with its own leadership team and dedicated budget. The Emerging Threats and Technologies Division, part of the National Security Directorate, consists of over 400 scientists, engineers, and analysts with backgrounds in cyber, nuclear, intelligence, policy, data science, and other fields. We work in interdisciplinary project teams to provide innovative concepts that integrate policy, analytics, science, and technology into unique solutions. Responsibilities We are seeking a Project Manager to lead planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, schedules, and budgets. Responsibilities include coordinating cross-functional teams, managing resources, mitigating risks, and maintaining stakeholder communication. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with experience in project management methodologies. This role requires adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to drive results in a dynamic environment while fostering collaboration and maintaining high-quality standards. Specific responsibilities include: Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with organizational strategy, commitments, and goals. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party resources in order to deliver projects according to plan. Also responsible to define the projects objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. Key attributes leading to the determination of upward progression in this career family include: project complexity, risk, team size, business volume, contract type, and political/client/business sensitivities. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: BS/BA and 5+ years of relevant project management experience in a in a government or federally funded environment -OR- MS/MA or higher and 3+ years of relevant project management experience in a government or federally funded environment Preferred Qualifications: Active Q//SCI Proven experience managing projects in a government or federally funded environment. Demonstrated experience engaging stakeholders in the intelligence community. Understanding of PNNL Business Systems and Customer Service Model. Strong knowledge of government contracting requirements, budget management, and compliance reporting. Demonstrated experience engaging stakeholders in the intelligence community. Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders across government agencies, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project alignment and timely delivery. PMP certification or training. Demonstrated understanding of the US intelligence organizations and roles. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write and present clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Demonstrated experience working with DOE/NNSA, Specifically NA-22. Experience managing projects with sensitive or classified information in accordance with applicable security policies. Demonstrated success in navigating complex organizational structures and resolving competing priorities in politically sensitive environments. Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget, while meeting stringent compliance and documentation requirements.
