Overview

We are looking for experienced professionals to join us in the Upstream Development Strategy and Reserves Department (UDS&RD) based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia to manage one of the world& 39;s largest portfolios of on-shore and off-shore oil and gas fields. We provide opportunities to conduct pioneering studies, introduce new technologies and propose innovative development solutions.
The PE Specialist-Consultant working in Upstream Development Strategy Division (UDSD) should have broad and solid experience in the Oil & Gas upstream business with specialty skills in subsurface & surface evaluation. The specific areas of expertise should encompass Petroleum Engineering technical specialties in: (1) oil and gas reservoir development and depletion plans, (2) investment decision analysis (including risk and uncertainty), and (3) Strategic long-term production plans and portfolio analysis.
UDS&RD provides high level technical support to Upstream Management. This role requires both depth and breadth of critical technical expertise, managerial acumen and exceptional communication skills. The PE Specialist-Consultant will lead the conceptual oil & gas field developments and their commerciality assessments, focusing on long-term reservoir development, depletion planning, as well as conducting economic evaluations. This includes holistic corporate modeling and decision analysis to support field development plans concepts, portfolio capacity management, and related techno economic studies.

Key Responsibilities

Provides expert advice and assistance on operating problems relating to his/her area of expertise
Specify design criteria and relevant operating parameters for development of new oil & gas projects
Participate in project technical reviews and reviews proposals for new or changed operating procedures in his/her area of expertise to ensure efficient and economic operations
Conduct economic studies and cost analysis, as appropriate, to resolve alternative courses of action
Provide guidance on upstream investment opportunities
Perform impairment assessment on upstream assets
Conduct field portfolio management and projects ranking
Lead the process of building and updating guidelines for upstream economics evaluation
Evaluate and help develop new work processes and best technical practices
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Unit Supervisor or Division Head to which he/she reports
Identify technical challenges and develops solutions
Train and mentor less experienced professional staff
Represent Saudi Aramco in external conferences, symposiums and forums

Minimum Requirements

A BS and M.Sc. degrees in Petroleum Engineering or related disciplines. While a Ph.D. is desirable, an additional degree in Business, Petroleum Economics or Finance would be very beneficial
A minimum of 15-20 years of experience gained through working for a reputable oil and gas consulting company and/or E&P company with significant emphasis on specialization in PE technical disciplines and categories such as, Reservoir Characterization, Petroleum Development Architecture, Business Development Planning, Reservoir Surveillance & Monitoring, Reserves Assessment and Economic Evaluations. Good familiarity in the following areas is also needed: geology/geophysics, petrophysics, drilling operations, completion methods, artificial lift, well testing, flow assurance, production operations, surface facilities design, and cost estimation
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in presenting to Executive Management and large audiences
Goal oriented, self-starter and well-organized to provide expert advice and assistance in his/her area of specialty
