Job Description: Under the supervision of the Health Information Management Director, files patient records, assembles charts, checks for deficiencies, copies, answers correspondence and performs other Health Information Management functions as assigned. Key Responsibilities include: Assembles discharged patient charts as per established department procedures. Analyzes discharge patient charts as per established department procedures. Retrieves charts for physician/clinician completion. Assists in responding to requests for release of medical records and copying charts and portions of charts as directed by supervisor. Files incomplete/ complete medical records. Requirements: Additional Requirements: Ability to work well with other people; physical and mental health to endure light work with moderate walking, standing and stooping; ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient data handled. Experience: Previous hospital experience of two (2) years working as Health Information Management Clerk; accurate spelling Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
