Roles & Responsibilities: The Medical Clerical Associate performs clerical and operational tasks necessary to run an efficient patient care operation, under direct supervision. S/he works closely with Administrator and/or Senior Medical Office Assistant and members of other health care team. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. 1. Staffs reception desk. 2. 2. Retrieves files for scheduled visits 24 hours prior to the visit. 3. 3. Distributes daily schedule to their assigned NP/MD/RN team member. 4. 4. Re-files the records that represent patients/clients who have been seen by the clinical care staff or are “no shows”. 5. 5. Searches for records that were identified as “missing” in the 24 hour time period. 6. 6. Performs patient transportation services on an emergency basis, as necessary. 7. 7. Arranges for and/or transport blood and other samples to labs on a “stat” basis, as necessary. 8. 8. Covers the phones and triage all phone calls, as necessary. 9. 9. Responds to inquiries from physicians, staff, insurance companies, court orders, and others for copies of medical records. 10. 10. Retrieves medical records from the “firms” at the end of the day. 11. 11. Prepares medical records for new patients as necessary. 12. 12. Retrieves files for walk-in visits in “real time”. Perform data entry into relevant computer system for progress notes for patients/clients (ADR, Cerner, OHM, etc.) 13. 13. Files progress notes and other reports to existing charts. 14. 14. Other relevant duties as assigned Education: High School Diploma/GED. The salary range for the role is $21.95 - $23.17 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
