«out the Team Our Real Estate team takes on the task of finding and managing over 1,600 stores, DCs, and offices. Their scope is pretty big, as we are a multi-national retailer with over 1,600 leased stores, offices, and distribution centers in the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Hong Kong. The team also supports new store growth through market analysis and research with the industry’s best data resources and analytical tools. In addition to supporting the stores, we work directly with the Real Estate Legal, Facilities, New Store Construction, and Finance teams. About the Location This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart’s FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs. About the Job SUMMARY This position oversees the strategy and project planning for the store refresh program and other strategic projects. Responsible for managing and validating completion of large-scale fixture and décor installation as well as several construction related tasks in 125-450 locations with varying scope. Responsible for providing support and developing viable solutions for complex issues to assist all internal and external business partners throughout the project. Manager is responsible for leading and developing high performing individual contributors and 20+ vendor partners. Accountable for detailed management of a $30M-$45M annual budget. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Create strategies and processes to ensure F&E Strategic Projects team and Home Office partners are properly aligned to successfully complete projects at the store level. Develop and maintain close business relationships with key stakeholders to identify needs and ensure business goals are met. Proactively resolve all issues such as vendor opportunities, missing components, and scheduling conflicts. Manage the team in standardization, process improvement and cost management to increase the enterprise value of projects. Responsible for creation of strategic projects process and bid documents that detail project costs, scope detail, store count, and completion dates. These documents will be submitted through extensive approval processes and will need all applicable signatures to properly execute the proposed contracts. Manage vendor negotiations and relationships. Responsible for communicating project plans, timelines and expectations to all vendors. Collaborate with internal partners to ensure deliverables are achieved for successful completion of all projects. Manage daily and overall progression and issue reporting. Manage the close out and resolution of vendor issues through appropriate communication and follow-up. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree and/or 4-6 years retail operations, project management and leadership experience preferred. Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously in a rapidly changing environment. Individual must have the ability to collaborate, influence across multiple business units and develop functional solutions. Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite, including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and scheduling programs (e.g. MS Project). SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY Directly responsible for supervising and developing a high performing team of Fixtures & Equipment Project Managers as well as vendor Project Managers. Managing 20+ vendor relationships and Project Managers. Evaluates employee performance via mid-year and final reviews. Proactively develops by providing consistent coaching and mentoring in relation to PetSmart values and standards. TECHNICAL SKILLS Demonstrates excellent organization and time management skills. Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment. Ability to prioritize and organize workflow. Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule. Perform all other duties as assigned by management. Ability to interpret and manipulate large spreadsheets.
