In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the QC Microbiology team, responsible for testing biologics for clinical and commercial use. You will be responsible for managing the team, hiring and developing staff, and ensuring efficient lab operations. Responsibilities: - Supervise the QC Microbiology lab staff, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards. - Develop and execute work plans to meet safety, quality, and performance targets. - Review and approve test methods and procedures, ensuring alignment with corporate policies. - Track and report performance metrics, driving continuous improvement in lab productivity. - Hire, mentor, and develop team members to support business operations and career growth. - Oversee equipment calibration and troubleshoot abnormalities. - Coordinate training and scheduling of team members. - Communicate effectively with management regarding progress, challenges, and needs. - Ensure cGMP compliance and participate in regulatory inspections. Qualifications: - Experience with microbiology assays and associated equipment. - Familiarity with laboratory LIMS, ELN, and ERP systems preferred. - Ability to work in a regulated environment and follow GMPs. - Strong mentoring and multitasking skills. - Excellent organizational and critical thinking abilities. - Effective problem-solving and communication skills. - Proficiency in software applications such as Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint. - Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or a related science field. - 6+ years of laboratory work experience in a regulated environment. - 2+ years of management experience.
