Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services’ company, is looking for a Janitor/Groundskeeper (Night Shift) to support the U.S. Custom and Border Protection (CBP) Processing and Holding Modular Buildings located at the El Paso Border Patrol (BP) Station. The Janitor/Groundskeeper will maintain all areas, which include the immediate Modular Facilities Grounds Areas (sidewalks, driveways, parking areas) up to twenty-five (25) feet from the buildings, while understanding the critical nature and time sensitive needs in maintaining a high level of services within the Modular Facility. This SCA position pays $17.20 hour. The hours for this role are 2PM-10PM and may require morning shift support based on the clients needs. Responsibilities Indoors Disinfect all surfaces Sweep non carpeted floor, and then damp mop accessible areas Damp mop and spray buff the tile and resilient flooring areas Apply a uniform and non-slip floor finish coating Display caution signs when cleaning floors Strip and wax all hard surface floors. Vacuum all carpet-type entrance mats Empty and return to their initial location all wastebaskets, cigarette receptacles (ash trays and cans) Thoroughly dust surfaces Damp wipe mirrors Keep porcelain, stainless-steel surfaces and drinking fountains clean. Spot cleaning of washable surfaces and fixtures. Re-supply restrooms, locker rooms, kitchen/break areas, and holding cells Perform high dusting (Venetian blinds, ceiling fans, and air supply/return vents) Clean interior and exterior window surfaces and glass. Clean light fixtures. This includes the interior and exterior of the fixtures. Check all interior lighting fixtures and replace any burned out bulbs Clean air conditioning vents Outdoors Sweep, vacuum, or hose-down outside rubber or polyester entrance mats. Clean grounds, landscape beds, driveways, parking areas, and sidewalks. Remove empty boxes and remove cans from the premises. Outdoor parking areas shall be hosed down with water to remove caked mud and dirt. Mow grass within the CPC compound area and all non-landscaped (wild grass/weeds) areas Trim grass adjacent to asphalt or concrete walks. Control and eliminate seeds on building grounds. Maintain all landscaped areas (lawn and flowerbeds). Water shrubs, flowerbeds, hedges, trees, and lawn areas. All areas and surfaces shall be maintained free of leaves. Clean all asphalt and concrete parking lots and driveways. Areas being cleaned shall be marked off with traffic cones. Reduce safety hazards due to ice and snow using provided materials and remove all excess sand and rock that have accumulated on the sidewalks during the course of the winter. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Must be able to pass a Chenega and Government background check, which includes a credit check and a drug screening Must have the flexibility to work day shifts occassionally during times of high volume Knowledge of general cleaning procedures Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Demonstrate knowledge of safety guidelines and practices Must be able to perform work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, and reach repetitively Physical ability to move furniture and operate light equipment General knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment (to include power-run equipment)
