Þscription First Cook-Mount Sinai Morningside The First Cook prepares high quality foods for patients and non-patient services Responsibilities Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks Prepares high quality foods for patient and non-patient services. Ensures that all equipment used for handling and preparation of food is functioning properly. Reports malfunctions to Supervisor/ chef manager Maintains and verifies full compliance with OHSM/HACCP standards. Coordinates the development of new menu items with the Chef Manager. Utilizes advanced culinary skills to prepare specialty items according to established recipes. Oversees and performs (when necessary) equipment sanitizing according to departmental and HACCP regulations. Assists in the testing of all new recipes. Relieves Second Cooks in patient and non-patient feeding. Qualifications Education Requirement: High School education or equivalent. Formal training in food preparation preferred. Experience Requirement: Three years of large quantity cooking experience. Two years related experience. Collective bargaining unit: SEIU 1199-MSSL Compensation Statement The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $27.97 - $30.65 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
