«out The Role Responsible for the analysis of the general ledger to allow accurate and timely financial reporting in conformity with GAAP, SEC, reporting, and policies and procedures set forth by GBCI. Manages the bank's financial budget process, implements new processes, and contributes to the organization's success by providing valuable financial insights and supporting various strategic initiatives. About You DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares general ledger entries and review transactions prepared by Accounts Payable prior to posting. Assists with the gathering of information for audits and examinations by Regulators and Auditors as needed. Reviews income and expense general ledger entries for appropriateness and assures all monthly entries have been made, accrued or prepaid for the month prior to month end close. Oversee and validate month-end close process, analyze variances to budget, and guide other finance staff on methodology design. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the Board of Directors, departments, and GBCI. At times responsible for the design and creation of reports. Manage the cost accounting function, covering funds transfer pricing, cost allocation methodologies, and profit/cost center profitability. Calculates and analyzes product, customer, and organizational profitability, offering continuous improvement solutions and maintaining profitability and decision support models. Actively pursue realization of cost savings through organizational efficiency initiatives. Coordinate the budget and forecasting processes, including formulation, monitoring, and presentations to senior management. Collaborate with senior management, GBCI, and other divisions to identify trends, recommend efficiencies, and compile data for budgeting and ongoing forecasts. Build and maintain financial models and run analytics on an ongoing and ad hoc basis. Work with large data sets to develop reports and improve processes through automation, ensuring data integrity and accurate financial reporting. Create and maintain documentation of department procedures, key events, and system revisions. Participate in meetings with internal and external organizations, finding solutions and implementing new methods or processes. Supervise, develop, and mentor accounting staff. Comply procedures, assist in supporting internal and external audit exams, including SOX compliance and control self-assessments. Demonstrate efficiency, problem-solving skills, and discretion in handling confidential materials and company information. Play a key role in creating monthly deliverables and the annual budget process, analyzing key business information and drivers to identify trends. Identify, maintain and refine key metrics and performance indicators relevant to the operational and financial performance of the bank. Prepares daily general ledger reconciliations. Prepares monthly general ledger reconciliations; ensures all balance sheet accounts have been reconciled and proper documentation is maintained in files. Follows-up on any outstanding suspense items older than 90 days as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Three years to five years of accounting, finance, or data analytics experience. At least two years of experience in an accounting leadership role. Advanced working knowledge of GAAP and financial processes including internal controls, budgeting, financial closure, and SOX controls. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management. Must possess current valid driver’s license. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Advanced knowledge of financial and accounting theory, principles, and practices. Working knowledge of standard office equipment. Thorough knowledge of various office software. Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the Internet. Communicate Effectively: both verbally and in writing with others in a clear, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques. Demonstrate soft phone skills by treating all internal and external customers in a polite and courteous manner.
