Essential Functions • In accordance with the Linehaul plan, directs the dispatch of transportation equipment • Ensures Linehaul dispatch and arrival rules are followed according to defined Company procedures • Coordinates cargo shipments to maximize the trailer volume while meeting package delivery obligations • Enters dispatch events into an online system (TMS) to ensure on time delivery and pick up of trailers • Verifies the location of equipment in the dispatch system by completing yard inventories • Verifies the load/unload status of trailers by completing yard checks. Timely reports missing equipment. • Follows and communicates safety initiatives to ensure a safety-conscious culture • Investigates and reports schedule delays, accidents and equipment failures and implements contingency plans which ensure on-time load delivery in the event of an en-route breakdown or accident • Reviews and communicates Department of Transportation (DOT) roadside violations to management • Coordinates with the Safety and Maintenance departments to monitor the monthly tractor safety inspections and ensure annual certificates are obtained in compliance with the DOT • Reviews trailer load condition reports (TLCR’s ) to ensure proper completion NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Education • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business or related area, preferred Minimum Experience • Dispatch experience preferred Required Skills, Abilities and / or Licensure • Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced team environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with various audiences. Ability to work productively in team environment and effectively implement operational processes • Knowledge of concepts, practices, procedures and transportation regulations used in Linehaul field operations, including DOT regulations • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applicationsCity: Romeoville State: Illinois Auto req ID: 375152BR
