Overview: Under general direction, implements, monitors, and evaluates private vendor transportation-provider services and contracts. Conducts citizen group and customer outreach to educate and to resolve service issues. This is a non-exempt position in Salary Grade 190: Min $39.53 - Mid $47.43 - Max $55.34 per hour. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications. This posting will remain open until filled. Displays High Integrity & Honesty: Takes personal responsibility, acts with honesty and consistency. Has Technical and Professional Expertise: Has the technical skills, product knowledge and professional skills to do the job. Administers competitively awarded contracts for transit services. Initiates and approves contract transportation service invoices and verifies contract invoice date. Monitors and verifies required contractor reporting, ensuring timelines are met. Prepares service reports, staff reports, and presentations. Provides input to requests for proposal documentation for contractor-transportation services. Participates on contractor selection. Customer & External Focus: Markets his/her workgroup effectively and influences others in the organization. Develops policies and procedures for resolving daily operational issues. Responds to customer, driver, and contract vehicle issues. Educates customers and citizen groups on company’s paratransit services and plans. Solves Problems & Analyzes Issues: Has and applies problem analysis and problem-solving skills on a technical and interpersonal level. Develops and monitors paratransit service performance indicators. Evaluates performance through data collection, analysis, and formulation of reports. Works in a Collaborative Manner with Others: Works in a collaborative manner with others, helps resolve unproductive conflict. Provides direction and technical assistance to contractors. Previews service change programs with contractors and resolves service-related issues. Qualifications Any combination of education or experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of professional experience in demand-responsive and/or paratransit operations, transportation management, or contract administration. Public speaking or public relations experience is desirable. Special Qualifications: A valid Class C California Drive License and good DMV record.
