Responsibilities The Patient Care Tech is responsible to administer patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, managing the individual needs of the patient with regards to their age and clinical diagnosis. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the ICU in order to ensure appropriate patient care. Qualifications EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE: High School Graduate or equivilent One year experience in an acute care setting preferred Prior experience working as a telemetry/monitor tech preferred Completion of a medical terminology course or a minimum of 6 months working in a healthcare setting CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Current CA EMT, CNA –OR- Currently enrolled in RN program with successful completion of 2 semesters of clinical coursework Dysrhythmia course certificate or successful completion of dysrhythmia course for monitor techs within 90 days of hire/transfer CA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) required within 1 year of hire/transfer to be eligible for Senior Tech.
