Overview / Responsibilities Wood Mining & Minerals business is seeking
Permit Coordinators (Mechanical and Electrical) at our project site in Northeastern Ontario to work on a rotational basis (14 days on, 14 days off). The positions will be a mix of nightshift and dayshift and will start in February 2023. Reporting to the Manager, HSSE on the project, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide support on a major project. Key Responsibilities: - Establish a working relationship with contractors HSSEA/ CMT representatives. Ensure an adequate interface with relevant stakeholders (such as contractors, Client, enforcing authorities) in matters related to HSSEA
- Facilitate the Constructor's permit training activities for Cote Project employees, including the Client and Contractor staff
- Coordination with Wood HSSEA program coordinators to ensure contractors are enlisting the proper personnel in Permit and LOTO in all project personnel.
- Contribute to the review, maintenance, and improvement of all Wood required permits.
- On site coaching in transferring permit theory to practical application
- Audit and report contractor permitting process.
- On site assessment of competency relevant to training received.
- Report of all permitting related items to the HSSEA Manager or designate
- Provide all the necessary assistance to the Project HSSEA Manager in the capacity of HSSEA Permit Coordinator as required
- Develop / improve the project HSSEA training and awareness material, as applicable
- Assess permit training currently provided by Wood
- Maintain accurate and auditable HSSEA permit records
- Analyze feedback / HSSEA trends for required permits and make recommendations for improvement and to prevent recurrence of incidents, accidents, and near-misses.
- Maintain an appropriate level of continuous professional development
- Aid and guide project and construction management teams regarding planning, and execution strategies for HSSEA permitting on the project.
- Highlight HSSEA issues, make recommendations and/or issue instructions (based on reports, audits, and incident analysis) that will be implemented to enhance HSSEA performance
- Provide HSSEA permit support, guidance and leadership to contractor management, supervision, and craft
Skills / Qualifications - 5+ years HSSEA/ permitting related experience in industrial construction/mining operations.
- Working knowledge of OHS Act & Regulations (Construction/Mining)
- Time management skills with excellent organizational ability.
- High level of interpersonal and analytical decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience the construction permitting process in and systems implementation.
- Experience analyzing, interpreting and reporting on statistical data
- Must be willing and able to work nightshift
- Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
