You will be responsible for installing PLC code and software programs, ensuring the systems are configured to match the FDS. Once the systems have been installed you will then provide a high visible customer support through the performance of on-site service, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Serves as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Responsibilities Commissioning Engineer Responsibilities Ensure the correct version of PLC code is installed and modified to match the customer requirements for the system. Test and prove all safety systems are operational. Program all relevant sensors to enable the system to function as required. Install the correct version of software and prove that all functionality is available. Assist with the commissioning of external suppliers’ equipment and confirm integration into Cargo products. Establish safe exclusion zones for testing equipment. Prove the performance of the system does match performance criteria outlined in the customer requirements. Support the customer Factory Acceptance Test. Support the customer Site Acceptance Tests. Work with QA to resolve any quality issues. Work with suppliers to correct any defects found during commissioning. Filed Service Engineer Responsibilities Carrying out the basic repairs, and maintenance, as necessary elements of the cargo systems (CVI) Performing general maintenance, fitting, Troubleshooting and fault finding on CVI systems & subsystems. Support Mercedes vehicle service needs, Oil & lubricant changes, Filters, etc. Organise scheduled maintenance and repairs of the cargo systems [M60 & P60] Providing oral and written responses to requests for 3rd line technical requests from the site of operations to either site engineers, customer reps Providing defect liability or post-acceptance support for CVI equipment. Completing technical documentation including service reports, engineering change requests & inputting service data to a simple functional database. Responsible for ensuring that all issued equipment, including Vehicles, Spares, Consumables, Tools and/or Test equipment, are maintained in a suitable and safe condition. Qualifications Experience with Allen Bradley RS Logix is preferred. The ability to work with others in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced product development environment Experience of design for manufacture, with a background in a production environment would be highly desirable. Energy, drive and a can-do attitude are essential for this position The individual will be expected to travel around 50% for the year overseas to commission products on site and support customer SAT's.
