THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE: The Associate Category Manager will assist in the delivery of department strategies to maximize sales and profitability. They will also support the Category Manager or Sr. Category Manager in execution of the broader marketing strategy. This person must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and demonstrate strong attention to detailed execution. CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Business Area Strategy: Understands and partners in development and execution of the business area strategy. Use analytics and works closely with the consumer insights team to understand service trends and establish strategies to grow, replace, introduce new services. Manages portion of the business area. Financial Plans: Assists in the execution of the financial plans including sales, budgets and inventory in conjunction with the Finance team. Marketing: Assist in the execute of marketing plans to optimize profitable sales and track costs/expenses. In-Salon Monthly Partnerships: Work cross-functionally with training, merchandising and legal to bring to life monthly vendor partnerships. Proof all communication and assets associated with the partnership; partner with merchandising on featured SKUs for salon etagere and run/coordinate contests. Reporting: Pulls, prepare and analyze reports from BW systems as needed. Collaboration: Develop and maintain internal and external relationships, including Merchandising, eCommerce, Marketing, Store Operations, Supply Chain and brand partners. Continuous Improvement: Complete on-going training and development courses supported by the HR Training Team or the Store Operations Training Team. Brand Management: Management of a brand portfolio, performance, and relationships to maximize profitability and achieve financial objectives. Negotiation: Negotiate vendor terms, supply costs, newness or exits to support the financial plans and strategy. Trend: Proactively assess and monitor the competitive landscape and marketplace to determine potential opportunities or threats. THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS: Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred Years of Related Experience: 1-2 yrs. experience must include merchandising and/or MP&I experience. Experience in beauty services is a plus. Experience negotiating contracts or vendor terms preferred Skills: Strong organizational skills required. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of SAP and SAP Hana a plus. Creative problem solver. Professionalism and confidentiality required. Passion for the business. High energy innovation leader. Strong financial aptitude and analytical ability. Capability to lead brand meetings and presentations. Working Conditions: Some travel required.
