Role Overview We are seeking a skilled DevOps and Applications Systems Engineer for a office based role combining technical support, system integration, and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will support the installation, configuration and maintenance of Integration Services while deploying and managing applications in cloud environments. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise in DevOps and IT systems and excellent communication for interacting with stakeholders and end-users. Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure Management Deploy, configure, and maintain infrastructure in AWS and Azure environments. Use Kubernetes and Docker to manage containerized workloads. Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation). CI/CD Pipeline Optimisation Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools. Automate software deployment processes to improve delivery speed and reliability. Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Implement monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch) to ensure system health. Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize infrastructure. Cloud Security and Compliance Apply security best practices (IAM, encryption, network security). Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards. IT Support Responsibilities (50%) System Integration and Support Provide technical support for installing, configuring, and maintaining integration services. Troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues, including networking, security, and database performance. End-User Support Respond to service requests and help tickets, ensuring timely resolution and user satisfaction. Support end-users during UAT cycles and project implementations. System Maintenance Perform routine system maintenance to ensure optimal operation. Document systems, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Incident Management Manage and resolve incidents while maintaining system reliability and availability. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Technical Expertise 2+ years of experience in DevOps, application support, or systems engineering roles. Proficiency in deploying and managing applications in cloud environments (AWS preferred). Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes). Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or similar CLI tools. Support and Integration Skills: Experience with system integration and configuration management. Knowledge of IT support practices, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting. Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Problem-Solving and Collaboration: Strong troubleshooting skills for complex application and infrastructure issues. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and end-users. Desired Skills and Qualifications Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices. Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch. Knowledge of firewalls, network protocols, and security standards.
