Senior Data Centre Engineer

Position Summary: The responsibilities of the Data Centre Senior Engineer will include: Day to day Data Centre operations including managing efficient equipment installation, maintenance and operation (compute, networking, storage and infosec hardware), timely equipment repair and upgrades, rapid troubleshooting and tracking of issues, reporting and managing key metrics. DCIM Management Inventory Asset Management Racking & Cable management to a high standard Ability to drive 3rd parties with assertiveness in order to obtain the required content on a timely basis Follow and implement processes and procedures that improve stability, performance and availability Maintain & monitor standards, controls, processes and solutions, to minimise business and IT risk Ensure that established policies and procedures are followed, and compliance requirements are met Proactively address risk, growth/capacity, optimize capabilities and support the product roadmaps and business plans Hold service reviews with the co-location Service Provider and any other Service Partner with services supported within the DC Be an integral contributor to infrastructure projects and plans. Communicate and collaborate effectively across all organizations and levels The candidate will be working closely with key stakeholders to ensure Infrastructure Services are deployed consistently across the globe, which will require the use of objective metrics that demonstrate positive progress. Additional Information Posting Date: 04-July-2022 Closing Date: 31-December-2022 General Strong analytical skills with ability to analyse data, draw and present conclusions with attention to detail Establishing Infrastructure Operations team as a global function, ensuring technical standards are adopted and deployed in a consistent manner; Monitors production outputs and services to ensure that SLAs and other quality metrics are being met Collaborate with core infrastructure and service engineers to improve service reliability, scaling and tooling Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack, software, hardware, cloud and networking Ensures technical documentation for production environments is developed and maintained Supports and participates in the formal reporting of project status Provides technical guidance to team members and 3rd party vendors Works with InfoSec where needed in assessing systems Defines and ensures implementation of data replication and business continuity Stakeholder Management Timely and efficient communication with stakeholders on issues and risks Review and communicate results to key stakeholders Expresses technical and business concepts, ideas, opinions and conclusions both orally and in writing Collaborates with team members internally and externally in pursuit of common mission, vision, values and mutual goals MAIN SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES REQUIRED Good experience in adapting new technologies as per the needs of business. You should be excited about new innovations in IT-Infrastructure domain At least 3-5 years’ experience in a large scale enterprise environment, including experience working with teams implementing large scale technical infrastructure projects. Practical knowledge of modern compute and storage systems, network platforms and what is necessary for physical layer inter-connectivity Good to have: Sound knowledge of security technology and processes, intrusion prevention, vulnerability management etc. Proven experience working at a Senior level Experience of working collaboratively with large 3rd party outsourced offshore providers Proven experience of Infrastructure Operations related roles and processes Proven experience in Infrastructure problem solving and root cause analysis Excellent general knowledge and awareness of key IT industry trends, products and services Possess strong commitment to team environment dynamics with the ability to contribute expertise and follow leadership directives at appropriate times Good communication skills and adaptability to differing cultural and business environments.
