Job Description Details: Intern will join the data science team and contribute to building analytical software and applications written mostly in R programming language – tidyverse, shiny and internal packages The team focuses on multiple analytics areas, such as: Anomaly detection Time series forecasting Natural language generation Intern with collaborate with other data scientists in the team, with key responsibilities like: Writing new or enhancing existing functions/classes for internal software packages Creating/improving unit tests and documentation for internal analytical software packages Contributing to web application development (R Shiny, modules) Creating ad hoc analyses or forecasts using open-source or internal tools available to the team Qualifications A bachelor’s degree is required with majors in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar fields Experience in programming with one of the open-source programming languages used in data science (R, Python, Scala, Julia), desktop automation (VBA) or general-purpose programming languages (Java, C++, other) Strong attention to detail and accuracy, including the ability to quickly merge and summarize data/information from multiple sources, including experience in data management, cleaning, data analysis and report writing Experience in one or more areas of quantitative analytics, statistics, econometrics, or mathematical modelling Strong interest in advancing analytical and programming skills Experience in the use of visualization tools, open-source or commercial (Shiny, Dash, Streamlit, Tableau, Qlik, Cognos) preferred Strong English communication/presentation skills (written, spoken) required This internship is paid.
