Auto req ID: 272182BR Job Description We are currently looking for a Forensic Scientist to join our little Island team on a permanent basis. We are the concentrate team in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. We are at the heart of PepsiCo products, sourcing ingredients to manufacture more than 1,200 recipes for our brands. Position Purpose & Primary Accountabilities: Responsible for analysing and resolving beverage related forensic cases globally: Assess, analyse, interpret & report results of forensic cases related to beverage ingredients, concentrates, syrups & finished beverages as basis for giving Approval for Use or release decisions Provide analytical support for R&D projects and spec development efforts Engage in root cause analysis to avoid reoccurrence of issues Develop new & improved methods in support of Productivity Act as subject matter expert in the analysis of foods by HPLC, GC; FTIR & Microscopy as well as metal analysis by ICP-MS Ownership of analytical instruments valued in excess of 300,000 Euros Adhere to PepsiCo Health and Safety standards and requirements. Qualifications/Requirements Essential Criteria: A master’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science or related discipline with 5 years of experience or a PhD with 3 years of experience Very strong experience in analytical chemistry with having a PhD being highly desired. Proven track record with prior industrial experience Strong problem-solving skills with proven track record of overcoming obstacles Proven track record of handling multiple projects simultaneously Being able to provide excellent and reliable results even under high business pressure and tight timelines Strong communication skills orally and written Additional Desired Criteria: Experience in operation of HPLCs (Waters) and GC-MS (Agilent) instrumentation Experience with MassHunter (Agilent), Empower (Waters) and Chromelion (Thermo) software platforms Experience in troubleshooting chromatography instrumentation Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills PepsiCo products are enjoyed by consumers more than one billion times a day in more than 200 countries and territories around the world.
