With more than 50 years’ experience in Postharvest treatments and Plant Protection, Janssen PMP has developed strong technical and commercial expertise. Janssen PMP has the ambition to accelerate the extension of its portfolio with new products and technologies derived from nature.PMP needs to extend its existing portfolio with new products and technologies in line with the strategy of the Post-Harvest Business Unit and the Microbial Business Unit. The Product Development Expert has the responsibility for the technical development of several pre-harvest and post-harvest products with a focus on natural technologies as well as optimization of the use of the currently marketed products at customer and end-user level. The main activities of the Product Development Expert are the following: Creates the technical story line for the best positioning of our products on the market based on documented performance and market requirements. Develops and coordinates internal and external studies to generate technical proof and background for proposed recommendations of use. Is in this position the creator of the technical service messages in launch phase. Just before launch, the Product Development Expert hands over to Product Manager/Technical Service Expert. Is the technical center of expertise and go-to focal point for certain products until the product launch. If needed and required by Sales & Marketing, is able to answer customer questions concerning best practices of use of the Janssen PMP products. Works independently and leads assignments/projects of moderate to high complexity. Provides coaching and guidance to peers, junior team members, coops and/or external consultants. Based on strong technical knowledge and market background, this position is also key contributor in product development project teams and may also function as project leader or core team member for certain projects. Qualifications Preferred Profile Education level: University degree in the field of agronomy or biology. Experience in plant protection products technical development is a must, either pre and/or post-harvest. Familiarity with agronomical practices Ability to coordinate technical trials at global level in a consistent way. Evaluation of the results, statistical analysis and reporting to the rest of the multidisciplinary team. Curious, structured and creative Excellent written and spoken communication skills internally and externally Fluent in English and ideally in Spanish. Knowledge of French, Dutch, German or other European languages will be a plus point. Business development mindset and able to operate with a certain level of independence. Being flexible, entrepreneurial and able to perform in a demanding environment.•knowledge of the software ARM (Agriculture Research Management) is preferred Ability to perform independently basic statistical analysis on efficacy data Location Ideally at the Janssen PMP headquarter in Beerse, Belgium.
