In this role you will report to Advanced Optimization and Development manager within the P&E Central Data Analytics organization: Responsibilities: Exploring the possibilities for development and application of optimization/statistical models and present opportunities to stakeholders (professional till executive management) Development of optimization models for low and high complexity initiatives independently and with support when needed. Feeding functional units with unknown insights based on data and assisting them with the activation of these insights through various platforms Conduct research and development and identify opportunities for designing solutions to solve complex operations problems, lift constraints, and maximize the strengths of the FedEx Express network. Maintain close partnership with collaborating departments e.g., ITD, Network and operations engineering teams. Requirements: Degree (Master, PHD) in Computer Science/Physics, Math, statistical modelling, or relevant discipline or equivalent in proven experience. At least 2-4 years of experience in applying statistical modeling and usage of optimization solvers (Gurobi, CPLEX, ..) Passion for operations research, physical/theoretical networks, logistics and willing to go the extra mile. Highly proficient in Java or equivalent programming languages (e.g. Python/C
