<p>We work to prevent youth homelessness across Sussex and Surrey and provide a home to 763 young people every night. <p><strong>The Role</strong></p>
<p>We are looking for a <strong>permanent, part-time (20 hours per week) Support and Advice Worker</strong> to join our outstanding&nbsp;Support and Advice Service&nbsp;at the Youth Advice Centre (YAC). In this role you will&nbsp;provide advice, information, support and&nbsp;guidance to vulnerable young people&nbsp;aged 13 to 25 years old around a variety of issues affecting their well-being.&nbsp;You will carry a caseload of clients with multiple needs, assessing their current situation and providing a series of intensive, structured interventions, either as lead professional or as part of an agreed joint agency package. Where relevant you will signpost service users to specialist services in YMCA DownsLink Group and other agencies.</p>
<p>You will actively engage and&nbsp;educate young people using the general advice drop-in and undertake a programme of information, advice and support work in the community. In addition, you will sensitively deliver support sessions around a wide variety of issues affecting the well-being of young people. This includes mental health and wellbeing support, sexual health services, debt and benefits advice.</p>
<p><strong>Your expected working pattern will be Tuesday to Thursday from 1&nbsp;- 6pm and Friday from 12&nbsp;- 5pm.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Who You Are</strong></p>
<p>We are looking to recruit a skilled and qualified individual who has previous experience working with young people and has a good knowledge of local services. You will have an understanding of Brighton-based support services and&nbsp;previous experience of working with young people who have multiple complex needs. You will also have previous experience and knowledge of safeguarding processes.</p>
