Delayed Coking Process Operations Advisor

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood (Amec Foster Wheeler) is seeking a Delayed Coking Operations Advisor. The Operations Advisor applies extensive and comprehensive knowledge of Process engineering principles and practices to the organization's products and services. Plans, schedules and conducts broad and/or technically complex engineering assignments requiring judgment, independent evaluation, selection and significant adaptation and deviation from standard techniques and procedures. Develops, plans, evaluates and recommends solutions for difficult problems. Assignments are broadly defined. Work is performed and decisions are made independently. Serves as a technical expert in meetings with customers and vendors. Travels to project meetings and job sites as necessary. Routinely suggests, justifies and implements improvements and creative solutions for problems. <br><br>Essential Job Functions : <br><br><ul><li> Prepares proposal and contract design calculations using standards and/or new methods as required. </li><li> Prepares and issues contract information (CI) sheets based on calculations. </li><li> Reviews drawings and other engineering documentation for compliance with CI sheet requirements, codes, and standards. </li><li> Prepares technical specifications for purchased equipment. </li><li> Coordinates and interfaces with equipment suppliers. </li><li> Prepares technical evaluations of supplier's proposals. </li><li> Gives effective presentations to customers, suppliers and internally within the organization. </li><li> Works with and communicates with project management team. Essential Job Functions Under Certain Circumstances: </li><li> Consults with supervisor and other experts concerning unusual problems and develops and applies advanced techniques and methods, as required </li><li> May serve as an individual contributor or may plan, assign, coordinate, and review work of other engineers depending on the scope of a particular assignment. </li><li> Assures that all work on assigned projects is timely, accurate, and high quality. </li><li> Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Skills Requirements: </li><li> Extensive and comprehensive knowledge of Process Engineering and effective working knowledge of the organization's technologies. </li><li> Excellent written and oral skills. </li><li> Develops subordinates' skills and encourages growth; takes responsibility for subordinates' actions. </li><li> Sets expectations and monitors delegated activities. </li><li> Gathers and analyzes information skillfully, while developing alternative solutions, if necessary. </li><li> Understands business implications of decisions. </li><li> Works and communicates effectively with customers and vendors. </li><li> Works with administrative supervision and effectively manages multiple and conflicting priorities. </li><li> Understands both the technical and commercial aspects of the organization's projects and proposals. </li><li> Able to organize, plan, assign and coordinate tasks and projects. </li></ul><br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years of experience; or advanced degree with equivalent level of experience.
