Lead Pipeline Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a <b>Lead Pipeline Engineer (Repairs and Minor Projects)</b> based in Basra,Iraq office on a 28/28 rotation. <br><br><b> Job description </b> <br><br> <b> Routine operate, maintain & repair activities </b> <br> <li> Planning and supervision of repairs including bolted clamp, welded split sleeve, Epoxy grouted sleeves, composite wrap and sectional replacement. </li><li> Planning and supervision of pipeline maintenance, inspection and pigging activities. </li><li> Development of required processes and procedures. </li><li> Review and input to Job hazard assessments and participation in technical and safety reviews applicable to specific competencies. </li><li> Day to day management of Contractor activities, verification of day work sheets, ITRs and providing direction to Contractor in line with Contract and Company requirements. </li><li> Review quotations, technical queries, variations to scope and confirm work done, manpower resources and actual quantities </li><li> Prepare scope of work for repair, interventions, CIPS, DCVG, ILI, pigging, etc. </li> <br><br><b> Shutdown repair </b> <br> <li> Liaise with operation production, brownfield mods. engineering, P&E and maintenance departments to coordinate integrity execution of repairs during S/D and TARs. </li><li> Advise on optimal repair techniques, materials selection & requisition, welding procedures, inspection and testing requirements. </li><li> Review & Preparation of Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), Electrode Qualification Test (EQT), welder Qualification Test (WQT). </li><li> Prepare final repair dossier for PSSR, pre-start-up audits for safe recommissioning. </li> <br><br><b> System Improvements </b> <br> <li> Implement new tools and techniques to improve reliability, integrity and overall pipeline system availability. </li><li> Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with recognized standards. </li><li> Mentoring local staff and graduates on processes, guidelines, inspection tools and latest technology. </li><li> Identify areas of improvement in procedures and provide comments to pipeline manager. </li> <br><br><b> Reports and Documents </b> <br> <li> Manage large scale pipeline data base for future reference through PIMS suite. </li><li> Single point accountability for documentation during maintenance and projects. Ensure appropriate P2A (or A2O) handover of documentation. </li><li> Maintain and raise MoCs for required modifications and ensure compliance with approved conditions and TA recommendations. </li><li> Monitor No Objection Cert. for Right of Way/crossings' expiry dates and notify responsible person (ROW TL) for their appropriate action. </li> <br><br><b> Budget management </b> <br> <li> Provide input for preparation of budgets and assist in the implementation of required controls to achieve annual objectives. </li><li> Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost transparency. </li> <br><br><b> Technical Support </b> <br> <li> Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls Code of Practices </li><li> Carry out HSE audits, HAZID, HAZOP and lead closeout of audit points and recommendations. </li> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><li> Relevant engineering degree </li><li> Minimum 20 years oil / gas operator experience. </li><li> Must have Shell pipeline or project management TA2 accreditation. Pervious Shell or Shell JV experience is an advantage. </li><li> Proficient in MS Project and SAP </li><li> Extensive experience in onshore pipeline brownfield modification projects, operations, maintenance, inspection and repair . </li><li> Experience in pigging and ILI operations (planning and execution). </li><li> Demonstrate experience in design, procurement and construction of pipelines, materials requisition and knowledge of corrosion control, welding, pipeline codes & standards. </li><li> Experience in hot tapping and stopple activities , including checklist and calculations validation. </li><li> Knowledge of pipeline defect assessments including metal loss & dents assessments </li><li> Proven track record in working in remote areas and supervision of local Arabian gulf experience is preferred. </li> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
