Instrumentation Controls Telecom Engineer (Sr. Lead)

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a <b>Senior Instrumentation Controls and Telecom (ICT) Engineer</b> with experience in the oil and gas sector to join our Conventional Energy Team in Calgary or Edmonton offices. As a part of the Instrumentation Controls and Telecom discipline, your responsibilities within the discipline will be as follows: <br><ul><li> Provide high-level strategic direction, leadership and support to corporate/project/site staff and management </li><li> Interviews, evaluates and assigns qualified staff to projects, and recommends salary levels </li><li> Supports business development, and development of major proposals to Clients </li><li> Assures compliance with Engineering Procedures and quality control standards </li><li> Assists ICT leads with establishment of project plans, schedules and budgets </li><li> Provides guidance and direction to project ICT Engineering staff </li><li> Monitors the performance of the I&C Engineering function on each project </li><li> Delegates tasks and authority to Project Discipline Leads as required and supervises resulting actions </li><li> Approves staff performance appraisals and recommendations to senior management for promotion, salary levels, work assignment and external training programs </li><li> Promotes, supervises and monitors inter-department relations between Business Units, projects and other departments with respect to performance of I&C Engineering </li><li> Promotes, supervises and monitors compliance with company HSSEA, Risk Management and QM procedures for project work </li><li> Participates in project audits </li><li> Project Execution which may include: </li><li> Providing input to process P&ID's </li><li> Provide input into DBM </li><li> Design, development and technical content of the ICT portion of project work which may include: </li><li> Responsible for specifying and selecting field instrumentation and control devices </li><li> Prepare and review control deliverables such as Control Philosophy, Control Narrative, Cause and Effect diagram, and Control system architecture </li><li> Participate in HazOp, LOPA, and SIL review </li><li> Preparing and reviewing IO lists and assignments </li><li> Equipment communications and network systems </li><li> Selection and procurement of controls hardware </li><li> Plan, coordinate and prepare equipment or work specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations for various equipment </li><li> Responsible for performing squad check of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines </li><li> Have frequent contact with vendors, and internal staff </li><li> Providing technical support in SAT/FAT </li></ul><br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Instrumentation Technologist / Bachelors in Science, Engineering </li><li> Professional designation, IE: P.Eng. licensed for Alberta </li><li> Minimum of 20 + yrs. Industry experience </li><li> Experience in the oil and gas sector.
