Senior Electrical Designer

We are currently recruiting for a <b>Senior Electrical Designer </b>to join our team in Calgary. <br><br><b>Responsibilities:</b> <br><ul><li> Provide design and technical support for the layout, design and specification of electrical systems for industrial plants and related infrastructure. </li><li> To carry out duties and responsibilities as assigned by the lead electrical engineer </li><li> Design and Draft equipment and auxiliary components in 2D and 3D drawing environments </li><li> Assist designers and engineers with drawing coordination reviews </li><li> Establish good working relationships and communicate with designers, area leads, department managers, clients and other team members to coordinate, ensuring the compatibility of design </li><li> Accountable for the quality of deliverables. </li><li> Perform assignments with limited instruction </li><li> Leading design work groups or project design teams with limited supervision. </li><li> Supervising and mentoring junior staff, including assigning work and evaluating technical competence. </li><li> Site visits as required to obtain necessary information </li><li> Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code CEC </li><li> Ability to read and interpret specifications, applicable codes and standards </li><li> Flexible and able to prioritize workload in conjunction with project needs </li><li> Strong communication skills, professional ethics and ability to take the initiative and display a commitment to contribute to the project </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Diploma in Electrical Engineering Design Technology or similar. </li><li> Minimum 10 years of relevant design/drafting experience. </li><li> Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, S3D, E3D, PDMS, Smart Plant Electrical and/or knowledge of PDS modeling tool </li><li> Ability to work in a team environment, as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills. </li><li> Must possess strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
