Legal Coutract Manager

Role will be based in Lisbon - Portugal Occasional travel to other locations in Spain and Europe is expected as business need is determined. Full-time role. Labour Contract Based on Spanish Law. Bachelor's degree or Specialist degree in Law At least eight (8) years’ experience as legal specialist in commercial contract review, ideally in an in-house environment & preferably in a Construction, Oil & Energy, or Renewables & Environment sector. Fluent in English. A good command of Portuguese is not essential but would be a definite advantage. Proficient in Microsoft Office. The role will be part of the Global Legal Department and report directly to the Regional Legal Team (South Europe, Middle East, Caribbean, and Africa Region). Oversight & Delivery. · Oversight and delivery all legal services in domestic and international bids with a specific focus in commercial contract review, strong collaboration and coordination with the Legal Team in the Region. · Operate as a key business partner to provide high quality legal services to all of Schneider Electric’s operations in the Region. Work on a wide range of contractual matters to support the local commercial and procurement functions, many of which contain international elements. This will include: · Draft and negotiate a variety of contracts including nondisclosure agreements, supply agreements, purchase agreements, licensing and other software-related or IP agreements and other commercial agreements · Prepare & review tenders & contracts & support negotiations. · Prepare template agreements & T&Cs. · Monitor and improve contract compliance with established procedures. · Provide redlined recommendations on contracts. · Work with other teams, such as finance, tax, treasury, insurance and legal, on contract negotiations and requirements. · Maintain and update contractual records, changes, status reports, and other Information. Other local legal support as reasonably required by Legal Management. Must have an in-depth understanding of how an in-house legal department operates & a passion for understanding Schneider Electric's businesses & facilitating business results. Must have the ability to identify & analyse critical business issues & apply legal expertise to deliver solutions and mitigation actions, helping in finding acceptable trade-offs and reaching win-win scenarios. Must be confident with interpersonal skills, commercially minded, able to work effectively in teams, able to manage negotiations, performing under pressure. Must be able to adapt quickly, communicate effectively, manage conflict & solve problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
