<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood has a collaborative maintenance contract with Seqwater to deliver leading maintenance services in the water industry. These projects cover South East Queensland across multiple locations <br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Planning Engineer - Civil, in this role you will coordinate, oversee, and undertake planning for asset sustainability projects including renewals, refurbishments and improvements. You will deliver high quality Business Cases for asset sustainability projects and are responsible for presenting and gaining approvals of the preferred option. <br><br>You will also ensure a thorough and effective management of transition of projects to Project Delivery team. Your skills and expertise will see you providing sound advice on asset sustainability projects to ensure prudent and efficient delivery. <br><br>Based in our Brisbane office or North Pine & Hinze Dam, this role will allow a combination of working from home and in the office of the location closest to where you reside. <br><br>At this time, we will only consider applications from Australian citizens or those with the required permit/VISA for this region, in place <br><br><b> Responsibilities </b> <br><ul><li> Coordinate, oversee and undertake planning of sustainability projects including asset renewals, asset refurbishments and improvements to achieve water supply strategies, requirements, and specifications prudently and efficiently </li><li> Prepare necessary scope, engineering, funding, and administrative documentation to engage consultants. Critique and manage deliverables from consultancy projects ensuring all key issues are addressed while providing efficient solutions that meet project drivers within agreed time and budget </li><li> Undertake decision-making to ensure minimal cost of assets and services, and critically explore and analyze financial solutions </li><li> Ensure project engagement and transition from planning to delivery with project managers and procurement experts </li><li> Manage and analyze preliminary to detailed asset design and being responsible in gaining approval for implementation </li><li> Ensure effective communication and corporation between all planning teams from Asset Strategy to Sustaining Capital, this includes communication on asset performance, emerging programs and projects as well as trends and risks </li><li> Participate in the planning, development, administration, and implementation of project budget; while keeping up to date with industry trends, research, and scientific work to ensure that planning and design is industry best practise </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Tertiary qualification in Civil and Structural Engineering, </li><li> An active RPEQ membership is desirable </li><li> Chartered Engineering status and qualification in project management will be highly regarded </li><li> 5 years or more experience in the industry preferably in water industry with familiarity to dams, treatment plants and pipelines infrastructure </li><li> Demonstrated experience in asset management from emergent to long-term investment of complex sustainability projects as well as delivery of engineering services and extensive engagement with contractors, consultants and stakeholders </li><li> High level managerial, interpersonal, communication (verbal & written), budgetary, analytical, negotiation and planning skills with a 'can do' attitude </li><li> Unrestricted
