Production Technician - Cards

Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Card Operations; Production Technician-Cards is responsible for manufacturing epoc BGE and BGEM test cards using the automated print and card manufacturing line. Duties and Responsibilities • Efficient and diligent assembly of epoc test cards using semi and fully automated equipment, according to process work instructions. • Perform chemical and equipment changeover activities. • Support equipment technicians with machine set-up and/or maintenance according to process work instructions. • Perform troubleshooting on automated equipment and work with equipment technicians to remediate. • Carry out duties in compliance with corporate policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). • Trains and comply with health and safety protocols in accordance with site guidelines. • Participate in continuous improvement activities by suggesting improvements to products, processes, or procedures. • Identify process or product non-conformances and promptly alert the manufacturing supervisor/operations shift manager. • Monitor yields on automated equipment, intervening and escalating as required. • Participate in preparing required data sheets for daily activities. • Perform critical quality checks and measurements in compliance with company quality manuals. • Support Research and Development with product development projects. • Participate in execution of experimental activities to collect and analyze data for product and satisfying quality criteria. • May provide necessary guidance and/or training to new employees if assigned by the Supervisor, Card Operations and/or Training Supervisor, Card Operations. • Continually embraces Lean culture. Job Demands • Repetitive, detailed nature of the production process • Flexibility to work overtime and on different shifts as required • This includes working day shifts, night shifts and a combination of the two. • Potential to be trained on one shift and moved to a semi-permanent position on a different shift • Ability to function in a fast- paced, noisy environment • Regular interaction with other peers, supervisors, manufacturing engineers and technicians • Physical o Manual dexterity o Ability to distinguish between colours o Ability to lift 30 lbs o Extended periods of standing, sitting and/or a combination of both Skills & Qualifications (Education and Experience) • Minimum High school diploma/GED and/or an equivalent combination of education and technical experience is acceptable to Siemens Healthineers/Epocal.
