<b>Overview</b><br />
<br />
The Geology Technology Division conducts research and technology development to support exploration, development, and characterization of hydrocarbon reservoirs in both conventional and unconventional systems. The division is seeking a senior research geologist to serves as a subject matter expert (SME) initiating, leading, and conducting research and development activities in their area of domain expertise. This includes working independently and within multi-disciplinary teams to achieve business objectives.<br />

<b>Key Responsibilities</b><br />
<br />
You should be able to perform the following:<br />
<br />
Develop new technologies and workflows to improve reservoir characterization, reduce exploration risk, and improve sustainability aspects<br />
<br />
Initiate, lead, and conduct research projects in the area of domain expertise<br />
<br />
Collaborate with internal and external entities to provide solutions to business challenges<br />
<br />
Write internal reports to document and communicate research findings<br />
<br />
Prepare internal presentations to technical professionals and management as needed<br />
<br />
Publish approved research papers in journals including peer-reviewed journals<br />
<br />
Participate and present research in international and local conferences<br />
<br />
Develop and protect company&
39;s intellectual property by participating in generating patents<br />
<br />
Train and mentor young geoscientists and lab technicians<br />
<br />
Act as a technical advisor to management as needed<br />
<br />
Developing and overseeing laboratories relevant to field of expertise - if applicable.<br />
<br />
<b>Minimum Requirements</b><br />
<br />
As a successful candidate, you<br />
<br />
Should have B.S. Degree in Geology, or a related field. Advanced degree e.g. MSc or PhD in geology or related field is highly preferred<br />
<br />
Have 15+ years of industry experience related to characterization, development, and exploration of hydrocarbon reservoirs<br />
<br />
Are familiar with industry-standard software (e.g., Seismic interpretation software: Petrel/Decision Space, Log interpretation software: Techlog/Geolog or similar)<br />
<br />
Have an expert level knowledge in one or more geology sub-discipline such as structural geology, geomechanics, geochemistry, sedimentology, stratigraphy, petrography, paleontology, and geostatistics<br />
<br />
Have an experience in developing new technologies or workflows to address business challenges<br />
<br />
Are able to track record of publications including in reputable peer-reviewed journals<br />
<br />
Have an experience in patenting (preferred)<br />
