Junior - Intermediate Electrical Designer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a Junior to Intermediate Electrical Designer with industrial or utility experience. This individual will be reporting to the Electrical Department Manager, located in our St. John's, NL office. <br><br>If you are eager to learn from an experienced team who fosters a supportive and motivating culture, then this is the role for you, apply today. <br><br><b> RESPONSIBILITIES: </b> <br><ul><li> Preparation of engineering drawings such as equipment layouts, panel schedules, AC & DC schematics, wiring diagrams and cable schedules using CAD software </li><li> Preparation of engineering calculations such as voltage drop and cable sizing </li><li> Development of specifications, material take-offs and bill of materials </li><li> Priority setting and time management to deliver tasks on-time and on-budget </li><li> Travel and visit to client sites during various project stages, c onduct field assessments and provide construction support </li><li> Interface with clients for project scope development, design reviews, and progress meetings </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Electrical Technology Diploma </li><li> Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume and deadline-driven environment </li><li> Strong attention to detail and accuracy </li><li> Positive attitude and ability to effectively work in a team atmosphere is imperative </li><li> Experience with: </li><ul><li> Standard industry design tools such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite </li><li> Canadian Electrical Code, local of codes and standards </li></ul><li> Familiarity with the following would be considered an asset: </li><ul><li> Cable tray design </li><li> Single line diagrams </li><li> Electrical schematics </li><li> Industrial power systems and motor controls </li></ul></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
