Senior Civil Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Civil Engineer with extensive experience in the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical industry <br><br>Responsibilities <br><ul><li> Perform the function of Senior Civil Engineer on large or complex projects, including green - field projects and brown - field ones </li><li> Perform structural and civil calculations like foundation calculations, piling, earthworks, retaining walls, dynamic calculations, steel structures, blast resistant buildings, etc </li><li> Interpretation of geotechnical reports </li><li> Prepare contract requisitions for civil and structural work on assigned projects </li><li> Prepare Job Specifications for civil and structural work on assigned projects </li><li> Check, comment, and approval of steel shop drawings </li><li> Check, comment, and approval of precast concrete shop drawings </li><li> Co - ordination with the civil / structural team and also with other teams of different disciplines </li><li> Ensure that all civil / structural engineering works on assigned projects is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Project specifications </li><li> Identify circumstances considered likely to result in contract changes and prepares manhour estimates to support contract changes </li><li> Advise the Leader Civil Engineer and Engineering Manager of any slippages and their causes and proposed corrective action including any technical problems and unresolved differences with other groups </li><li> Liaise with specialist consultants appointed to support the Civil Engineering, Design Group and construction personnel and addresses site queries during construction </li><li> Carry out periodic inspection of civil and structural work during construction to ensure correct interpretation of designs and issues completion certificates for structural work carried out on assigned projects </li><li> Provide guidance and training to junior and trainee engineers </li><li> Keep abreast of development in the civil and structural engineering field </li><li> Perform such duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Leader Civil Engineer and Engineering Manager </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> BSc (Civil Engineering) / BEng (Civil) </li><li> More than 10 years relevant experience in Oil & Gas Projects (design and calculation) </li><li> Excellent command of Spanish and English languages </li><li> Good organization, written and oral skills </li><li> Knowledge of Spanish and International Standards and Codes (EHE, CTE, EAE, Eurocodes, AISC, ACI, etc.) </li><li> Advanced user of StaadPro </li><li> Advanced user of MS Office </li><li> Holding a valid permit to live and work in Spain is required </li><li> Immediate availability to join </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
