<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently seeking a <b>Senior Acoustics & Vibration Engineer/Specialist </b>to join our team in <b>Oakville, Ontario</b>. The ideal candidate will be a consultancy-minded individual with a keen interest in managing and developing a team of engineers, performing modeling and field measurements. B e a registered Professional Engineer in Canada, with 15 years' experience in Noise and Vibration data collection and assessment, combined with a good mechanical aptitude and grasp of engineering principles. <br><br>This is an opportunity to work in a global organization with an industry-leading position based on its niche range of services, and to be involved in projects both locally, and around the world. A dynamic individual, who is entrepreneurial and interested in consultative work, will thrive in this environment. <br><br><b> This role may have the option for remote work or to work from any Wood office in Canada. </b><br><br><b> Key Responsibilities: </b><br><ul><li> Apply your education and experience toward understanding client challenges and objectives; </li><li> Devise project specific approaches to address client needs and objectives; </li><li> Data collection, modeling, post-processing, analysis and documentation of results; </li><li> Conducting field measurements and inspections; </li><li> Write technical reports to communicate methodology, results and recommendations; </li><li> Prepare proposals, marketing materials and/or technical papers; and, </li><li> Provide technical guideance for junior staff on projects/assignments; </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Bachelors degree in engineering or science or related discipline; <br></li><li> Advanced degrees related to acoustics or vibration would be an asset; </li><li> Registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario or ability obtain registration in Ontario is a must; <br></li><li> 10+ years of relevant experience desired; Experience working on transportation, infrastructure or government related projects in Ontario is strongly desired. <br></li><li> Experience with a variety of sound and vibration measurement instruments (SLM, DAQ, Labview, etc.); </li><li> Experience with a variety of sound and vibration modeling software (e.g., CADNA/A, STAMSON, TNM 2.5, etc.); </li><li> Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and guidelines with a proven track record in successfully dealing with regulatory agencies on behalf of clients. </li><li> Competency in review of engineering drawings and specifications; <br></li><li> Detail-oriented person able to take on, balance and complete multiple projects while respecting budgets and schedules; <br></li><li> Excellent English communication skills both oral and written; </li><li> Must have a valid driver's license and own vehicle; <br></li><li> Demonstrated ability to deliver quality technical work; and, </li><li> Ability to professionally interact and work with colleagues, suppliers and clients. <br></li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
