We provide technical solutions to help with all challenges.<br><br><b> Partner with the best </b><br><br>As a Utility Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring reliable supply of utilities to the plant's production units which enables the plant to consistently produce good quality product.<br><br>As a Utility Specialist, you will be responsible for:<br><ul><li>Following all HS&E policies and procedures in accordance with the Bayport HS & E Management System</li><li>Producing steam for the plant by operating/monitoring/maintaining two boilers & associated equipment (water softeners, deaerator, water treatment systems).</li><li>Providing cooling water to the plant by operating/monitoring/maintaining a cooling tower and associated equipment (pumps, fans, water treatment systems).</li><li>Providing process water by converting raw, untreated river water into clean water using pumps, filters and treatment chemicals.</li><li>Generating clean and dry compressed air by operating/monitoring/maintaining two air compressors and air dryer units.</li><li>Providing heating oil (Therminol) to the plant by operating/monitoring/maintaining a hot oil heater.</li><li>Monitoring and maintaining good water quality for use in boilers and a cooling tower by manually sampling, testing and adjusting chemicals' injection appropriately as well as using an in-line water quality monitoring system (Vivid controller).</li><li>Performing periodic checks and maintenance of utility equipment to reduce breakdowns and ensure operational safety.</li><li>Communicating with vendors, outside contractors and embedded contractors to ensure reliable operation of utility equipment.</li><li>Creating purchase requisitions for supplies and contract maintenance services.</li><li>Coordinating maintenance activities on Utilities equipment.</li><li>Provide work permits in the Utility area and performing lock-out tag-out on equipment as needed.</li><li>Monitoring the inventory of water treatment chemicals and ordering as needed.</li><li>Troubleshooting and maintaining equipment in the utilities area.</li><li>Monitoring and keeping inventory of water treatment chemicals and re-ordering as needed.</li></ul><br><br><b> Fuel your passion </b><br><br>To be successful in this role you will:<br><ul><li>Have a high school diploma</li><li>Be certified in boiler operations and maintenance with 3 years boiler experience</li><li>Be experienced in collecting and analyzing water samples</li><li>Be knowledgeable in water treatment chemistry</li><li>Be a good team player and display good communication skills</li><li>Be accustomed to working in a busy, outdoor environment</li><li>Be able to lift 50 pounds and operate a forklift.</li><li>Be able to pass a background and drug test</li><li>Be familiar with Health, Safety and Environmental regulatory requirements</li><li>Have a good understanding of IT such as MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)</li><li>As part of our commitment to the health & safety of our employees, customers and the communities in which we operate, this role requires full vaccination for COVID-19 prior to beginning work.</li></ul><br><br><b> Work in a way that works for you </b><br><br>We recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
