THE OPPORTUNITY Reporting to the Director of Health Economics, Pricing and Outcomes Research for Australia, this critical role will develop, implement, and deliver pricing processes, models, analysis, and strategies that creates positive and compelling commercial opportunities for the company’s portfolio of products (over their life cycle) whilst understanding and managing/mitigating risks to the Janssen Australia business. In having a good understanding of the Australian healthcare system, reimbursement pricing and policy as well as other relevant health policy issues, you will develop robust pricing plans and strategy to successfully support Janssen’s business and reimbursement activities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support the development of reimbursement submissions and strategies; eg. preparation of Budgetary Implications (Section 4) for submissions, partnering with HEOR colleagues in preparing Risk Sharing Arrangements/Rebates, and ensure cross functional forecast alignment with key business partners, support Health Economic leads in price and RSA negotiations Lead strategic portfolio price management with support from product aligned members of the HEOR team. Support New Product Commercialisation, Commercial and Business Intelligence functions by contributing to the cross functional development of rigorous forecast models for pipeline products/indications that can bridge multiple business functions Develop, maintain, and support a system to actively monitor and predict Janssen’s liability due to Deeds with the Commonwealth Government Coach and mentor HEOR colleagues in the development of their pricing and policy expertise as appropriate to achieve objectives. Contributes to the Outreach and Shaping of HTA and reimbursement policies through various means including Janssen External Affairs and Policy initiatives, engagement with Janssen AP and Global Market Access Team. Qualifications IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU! Tertiary Education (undergraduate degree) in science, health science or economics. At least 2-3 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry (or equivalent) working at least 2 years in health economics and pricing with PBAC/MSAC processes or similar Familiar with the practical application of clinical/economic instruments, and good understanding of economic and financial modelling Demonstrable understanding of the Australian healthcare system, reimbursement pricing and policy environment and other relevant health policy issues Experience in payor negotiations and development of financial and health outcome-based risk share agreements Understanding of global market access and commercial environment, with an up to date understanding on local and international reimbursement and pricing policy issues Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels in the organization and with external customers in particular Department of Health, Federal and State Health decision makers, industry organizations (e.g. Medicines Australia), and HCPs/KOLs as relevant.
