Senior Electrician / Assistant Electrician - Offshore

<ul>
<li> Ensure that complete electrical safety is maintained.</li>
<li>Carry out routine inspections of all electrical equipment as per the planned maintenance schedule and/or as directed by the Chief Electrician.</li>
<li>Comply with the permit to work and isolation systems.</li>
<li>Repair and rectify any electrical malfunctions and breakdowns as soon as possible.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Install new equipment.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Inform the Chief Electrician on the status of electrical equipment, maintain an appropriate inventory of electrical spares and re-order as necessary.</li>
<li>Maintain all tools and equipment in a safe, clean and serviceable condition. Ensure the electrician's workshop is clean, tidy and hazard free.</li>
<li>Ensure that all electrical equipment brought onto the unit, including third party equipment is suitably certified and meets all company and regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Log all maintenance and prepare reports as required.</li>
<li>Be fully aware of the hazardous areas onboard and ensure the suitability of electrical equipment therein.</li>
<li>Have adequate environmental awareness and commitment.</li>
<li>Be prepared to participate in activities not directly associated with your primary function</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Member of an emergency response team and is required to carry out emergency response duties as required by the emergency response procedure.</li>
</ul>

<p>A rig electrician shall be time served, preferably in a heavy plant application, with a minimum of 3 years' experience with a wide range of electrical drilling equipment.  Experience should include VFD systems, fire alarm and gas detection equipment, refrigeration and air conditioning systems, planned maintenance programs and permit to work system.</p>
